  • 1.  Installing IntroscopeAgent9.7.0.27unix.bin in HP UX No JVM found

    Hi there, I'm trying to install IntroscopeAgent9.7.0.27unix.bin in HP UX, it says "No Java Virtual Machine could be found from your PATH environment variable. You must install a VM prior to running this program" but actually it has Java 1.5 installed on the machine, and I did insert /oraapps/product/ora10gas/jdk for both PATH and JAVA_HOME environment variable but still no luck, anything I missed here? please help, thank you

    Hi,

    All APM installers require minimum of 1.6 JRE in 9.7 release, perhaps that's causing the issue.

    But more importantly support for HP-UX platform itself (both EM and Agent) was dropped in 9.7.

    Have you tried 9.6 Agent installer instead which supports HP-UX ?

    Thanks for the fast response and the important information, Let me try to download and install the version 9.6. By the way does the 9.6 agent could work with 9.7 EM?

    Hi Siswanto,

    Yes that combination is supported.

    Agent release can be can be less than or equal to EM release.

    Hello,

    Please try running the .bin file with additional LAX_VM option as follows: IntroscopeAgent9.7.0.27unix.bin LAX_VM <path to alternate JVM>

    (That is documented in the 9.7 wiki: How to Install CA APM - CA Application Performance Management - 9.7 - CA Technologies Documentation )
