Can you help me with this problem?
I'm currently installing the Introscope .Net Agent 22.214.171.124 on a Windows server. When this one popped-up
I just clicked "Replace & Continue" since there is no installed introscope as seen on services & programs.
But during this part (see screenshot below), when I was asked to enter the username and password. I'm encountering this error
Can you help me out on this one?
Please note that telnet can be performed on the server where I'm installing the agent going to the server where the Enterprise Manager is located. I've also tried changing the domain using the name of the server but it only says "invalid user name for this server or domain"
Thanks in advance
You may check
APM 9.5 .net agent implementation guide (can download from APM bookself) > Troubleshooting and tips> 'Checking whether the .NET agent has been installed correctly' section.
Actually I was stuck with the installation when I encountered this message, so I can't apply that part yet since it is not yet installed. Thanks!
Ok , So if i understand correctly now you are stuck at sp monitor domain credential stage and one that is over then you can verify if the
installation is correct or not.
For SP monitor error check below
===========================In the .net installation log are you getting below error after entering correct SP monitor credentials
Action ended xx:yy:zz: ISNetValidateLogonName. Return value 1
If yes then
one reason to occur this
due to the disabled Computer Browser service on Windows 2008 (ref.http://community.flexerasoftware.com/showthread.php?180962-ISNetValidateLogonName)You can get around this error by enabling the service (as noted in the linkI provided (In case you really want to enable it, you will need to alsoenable Printer and File Sharing from within the Network And Sharing Center(because the ComputerBrowser service depends on them).))
Hope this helps
If Olympia's advice does not help these points may:
1. The error relates purely to the optional extra CA APM Standalone Agent for Microsoft SharePoint (SPMonitor) and is not related to the Enterprise Manager server. So you just need to use the credentials for the SharePoint domain user account.
b. If you do not need to monitor Sharepoint applications then you can go back a few steps in the installation and deselect the Sharepoint option
2. If you want to use Sharepoint monitoring try a silent install from the command line as we have seen in the past that is successful when "server name can not be empty"error occurs in the UI agent install.
IntroscopeDotNetAgentInstall32_126.96.36.199.exe /s /v"/qn
INSTALLDIR="<Installarion Directory>" EMHOST=<Enterprise Manager Hostname> EMPORT=5001 ENABLECD=0
ENABLESOA=0 ENABLESPP=0 INSTALLSPMONITOR=1
3. Here is the wiki link to APM 10.0 .NET Install Guide & the info would apply to 9.5 as well: Installing the .NET Agent
Hope it helps
Thanks also for your help but it also didn't work.
At this point, given the common solutions did not resolve the issue to open a case with CA Support.
Hello Lynn Williams,
Atlast! The silent installation worked. There was just a missing "slash" so it didn't work before. However, Upon checking the Introscope itself, "SharePoint Monitor" is not there. Do I still need to do something for it to appear? Thanks!
Thank you for your help. But it still didn't work
