  • 1.  Validating and Vetting a Management Module for Production Use

    Posted May 08, 2015 02:05 AM

I have been tasked to write a company internal procedure to enable users to create a management module which will be deployed to production by non-Introscope-expert.

    The questions are:

    - how can the folks responsible for the production cluster's well-being vet if the module is properly or badly designed?

    - what is "badly" designed?

~ I am not interested, at this stage, about the looks and feel, we are only concerned that there will be no detrimental impact on the cluster

~ what are the concerns? Dashboards/Reports/calculators amything else?

~ are there any best practices or rule of thumbs to consider?

    - are there some Manager custom metrics that we can capture before and after the module is installed, then compare the two ranges' data?

If there are no significant differences we would approve the module to be copied to the production mom.

Any other ideas links to read?
