  • 1.  Platform Monitor using EPAgent?

    Posted Aug 22, 2014 12:57 AM

    Hi

I am deploying EPAgents in my environment. Most servers do not have the Java agent. Is it possible to get the platform metrics - CPU, Memory, running services using the EPAgent?

Is it possible to use the platform monitor jar from the Java agent flle along with the EPAgent?

    Thanks for your help.

No you cannot use the platform monitor from the Java agent.

You can however download any number of plugins written myself and others in the communities that will the same thing. Just find the one for the corresponding OS to be monitored.

CA APM Wiki - Home Page

Check out the APM wiki page and click on the "Examples" link under the EPA section.

This will take you to a filtered view of the community documents which shows you the currently available plugins.

    Thanks Hiro,

The scripts sorted out most of the issues I was having with getting platform metrics out of HPUX and RHEL into Introscope. They were really helpful to get the EPA deployment started and I could easily iron out some platform compatibility issues with small tweaks.
