When running ulimit -n to increase the max number of file descriptors, the new value does not persist after logging out.  Would there be a way to persist the new value?

    thanks,

    Francis

    Hi Francis.

You can set the permanent soft & hard limits for users in the /etc/security/limits.conf file. Google that filename for more info.
