Upgrading operating system for repository server

Hello,

We have CA TDM tool metadata/repository on SQL server 2012 R2 and are upgrading all our servers. Will upgrading server where repository sits to higher version like  2016 or above supported by the tool?

Can you also please share the OS which are supported by our tool other than SQL Server 2012?
