  • 1.  Is possible perform a In-Flight Masking with Fast Data Masker?

    Hello,

I have multiples databases in different servers, so is necessary install the scramble database in every database server to use the transformation maps, in my company this generate cost for administration of the scramble database.

So... is possible use Fast Data Masker for In-Flight Masking(How?) or used a centraliced scramble database between diferenst servers and database.

    Thanks

FDM performs in-place masking - it does not support in-flight masking, this is performed by the Subset tool.

However, you can achieve your goal by using a centralized Scramble database:

    • Note that when you first specify a HASHLOV (or other function requiring Scramble database), you must specify the connection properties for Scramble:

Important: This can be different from the connection to the database being masked (even a different DBMS type)

    • In the Options tab of FDM, you will see also the same specification for a separate connection for the Scramble database with the SEEDTABLE% options:

I hope this helps answer your question.
