  • 1.  Rerun Generate Names in Table Relationships

I ran Generate Names with Default Values,  clicked add all candidates.  did some discovery and want to reun using Partial Name matching (end of names).  When trying his out, it does not offer the prompt to do so.

As a follow up to this  -  Relationships (discovery) Using Datamaker.

It appears 1st time through it prompts you for name parameter options.  When you rerun, it take whatever you had unless you go to the NAMES PARAMETERS tab and change them.
Otherwise, It doesn't prompt you again.
I found that in the data model we are looking at the COLUMN NAMES cannot only be Matched 1 for 1 (TABLE A (ORD_NUM) TABLE B (ORD_NUM) they could be matched on the ENDING part of the COLUMN Names (TABLE C (ACE_ORD_NUM) TABLE B (ORD_NUM)
so you can create relationships manually from there after you confirm the data from one truly matched data from other.  In this design, rules are embedded in the application code and unless you have documentation (a good data dictionary) you need to do this discovery.   These relationships then help you with subsetting, cloning, data generation etc.  As well as knowing your data model.
A common issue with enterprises these days is that often subject matter experts has retired or left the company.  If management did not enforce rules or documentation, you are left to this.  but it becomes invaluable once you endure the pain.
