Due to database modifications, the supported upgrade path from 3.1.1 to 3.2.0 is 3.1.1 to 3.1.2 and then to 3.2.0.  Please follow this upgrade path.

Since the upgraded database configuration was in 3.1.2, if you did a new install then you could have at this point 2 upgrade paths - both are supported.  3.1.2 to 3.1.3 and then 3.2.0 OR 3.1.2 directly to 3.2.0

It goes without saying that the upgraded database configuration is also in a new install of 3.1.3.  As a result, the supported upgrade path is from 3.1.3 to 3.2.0

How will I know if I have not followed these recommendations?

In Oracle you will get the following error:

    Failed to allocate licence

Can you point me to instructions on how to upgrade from 3.1.1 to 3.1.2? I need them for a customer today Jan 4, 2016.

Hi, Prashant. It looks like there is no difference in the actual process to upgrade between 3.1.1 to 3.1.2 and 3.1.2 to 3.2. So this 3.2 upgrade document can still be used as a guide.

Here is some more information that will make the upgrade process easier to follow and find the appropriate downloads.

Now where do you find 3.1.2?  We have it hidden in plain site.  In the download center, select the product

CA Test Data Manager for Data Generation and Test Matching - MULTI-PLATFORM

    Select release 3.2

    Select Gen Level 0001

    Click Go

    You will want to download

CA Test Data Manager Full Package 1.0.200 (GEN09114428E.zip) and

Upgrading from CA Test Data Manager 3.1.2 to 3.2 (INS01101705E.pdf) (Note: same document as found in the Tech Tips regarding the upgrading procedures)

Once those are downloaded, then download the latest GA (3.2.2 at this writing) by going back to the product selection page and selecting Gen Level 0002 (or the latest version)

    Click Go

    Download

CA Test Data Manager Full Package 1.2.2 (GEN01124908E.zip) (or the latest version when you download)

(Note: You do not have to download the Repository since you have it already installed and are upgrading.)
