  • 1.  How to use Derby DB in TDM ?

I try to use Derby DB, which is pure java database, with TDM.

First option I think could be used was the JDBC driver, but TDM seems to only allow Oracle JDBC.

Second option, use a ODBC-JDBC bridge, but only working solutions needs market license and seems limited on usage.

Has anyone tested a working solution ?

    Hi Dimitris,

No, I have not tested Derby.  I would suggest that you contact Michelle Cox in TDM QA to see if that was ever tested.

Since this product was geared toward production servers, a sample/starter ORACLE Database makes sense since all the SQL behind the scenes needs to be compatible with the database in use.  Oracle is scalable whereas Derby is not.  As a result, I really doubt that Derby has ever been tested.  Also, it is not listed as a supported database.]

    Cheers!

    Les
