  • 1.  unzip error 24

    I'm have to unzip a zip file and I got the following error:

    Failed to extract zip file. Extract zip fail at/workarea/Descargas_RA/zip_files/watch/watch-3.22-dist.zip: Cannot run program "unzip": error=24, Too many open files

     

    Same error on run command line and Exctract ZIP acction.

     

    Any advice?

    Hi, Daniel.

     

    Looks like a system limitation where you have hit the max number of files open at once.  Try increasing the limit using the instructions here:

     

    IBM Too Many Open Files error message - United States 

    Increase "Open Files Limit". Solution for "Too many open files (24)"

    Hi Dave,

    I modified the limits.config file and the error persists

    The strange part is, when I execute the unzip command directly in my O.S (linux), it runs perfectly.

    I'll apply an upgrade as Gregg_Stewart sugested.

    Anyway, I really appreciate your help and your time!

    Hi Daniel,

     

    What version/patch level? I think there was a known problem in the 5.5.2 GA version but fixed in a subsequent cumulative.

    Okay. In that case I would recommend applying the latest cumulative or upgrading to 6.1+ (6.1 is needed first when going from 5.5.2 to 6.3).

    Do you know the Known Issue number?

    I just wanna make sure my issue will be resolved with the upgrade I'd apply
