  • 1.  Can we re-install Release Automation with same DB schema ?

    Hi Experts,

There was a RA installation done with MySQL db and installation finished.

The RA mount has crashed and there is a need to re-install RA on new mount.

Can we re-install Release Automation in same DB schema ?

    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,

Yes you can install a new Release Automation server and than can point it to existing DB schema. However, please mind below steps.

1: Make sure that you install a Fresh RA skipping the DB configuration (as you need to manually configure the DB for this instance)

2: Also make sure that you first install the exact patch which was there before the crash. In case if it is having the cumulative you need to apply the same.

3: Once the exact version of the RA as it is stated in DB version_table is installed configure the DB for the same. Please refer for details instruction for same on docops. https://docops.ca.com/ca-release-automation/6-4/en/installation/install-for-a-distributed-environment#InstallforaDistributedEnvironment-ManuallyConfigureCommunicationwiththeDatabase
