    Hi,

As Oracle 19c is not supported by new Clarity release v15.8 and I heard Oracle 12c is going out of support in Nov 2020 so what should be done in  such case if we want to Upgrade to new Clarity release?

Has anyone come across such scenario and any information anyone have please your inputs.

    Thanks

    Hello Suman,

Does it imply that customers who have upgraded to current release - will have to upgrade again to new version to comply with Oracle DB support?
Or Oracle 19c support will have a backward compatibility with Clarity release which have or are still to reach EOS?

    Best Regards,
    Dhruvin

    Hi Dhruvin,

I am not really sure we can support backward compatibility but can check, however there are things which are not in our control. We try to support any third party component looking at their release cycle.

Oracle is ending support and we are ensuring to comply with that and support the newer release.

Also we are Agile and try to adopt as frequently as we can and we release every 3 months.

    Hi Dhruvin,

i checked further and we wanted to support Oracle 19c with 15.8 however Jaspersoft 7.1 doesn't support Oracle 19c. So in order to maintain the stack we couldn't and with next upcoming release we are targeting to upgrade Jaspersoft and that will also support Oracle 19c.

    Hi Suman,

         We see that Clarity 15.8.1 is now compatible with Oracle 19c, but bundled version with this is still Jaspersoft 7.1 {
CA Business Intelligence Jaspersoft Reports Server 7.1
} and it support only Oracle Standard/Enterprise Edition 12.2.0.1.x or higher patch level, is this understanding correct?

    Best Regards,

Thats rights, Clarity 15.8.1 support oracle 12.2 and Oracle 19c but Jaspersoft we gave is 7.1.3 and Jaspersoft dont support Oracle 19c but support Oracle 12.2

Thanks Suman for the quick update one more quick query below !!!
As per the Oracle definition - "Oracle Database 18c = Oracle Database 12c Release 2 12.2.0.2" and "Oracle Database 19c = Oracle Database 12c Release 2 12.2.0.3" - so does this inherently imply that Clarity 15.8.1 supports 18c or not, as it is supporting 19c?

Also for  Clarity15.9 planned in next couple of months is there a plan to bundle Jaspersoft which supports Oracle 18c/19c as well?

    Thanks
    Dhruvin

    Hi Martti,

Thanks for your revert back - have checked these posts and tried to replicate some of the steps that you did in the attached pdf in those post.
Hence wanted to check if someone has done it more recently.
Got some additional details from support case as below:-
