Date Constraints on Time Varying attributes

I have a time-varying field with Date constraints. The field is configured in an object-based portlet. The time-varying field is editable within the constraints as expected for the most part.

 

When the start and finish dates are the same, I expect the field to be editable. But, it does not work that way. Am I missing something or is it the expected behaviour?

 

NOTE: The timestamp for Start Date is 8 AM and Finish Date is 5 PM

Isn't the Date Constraints on the TSV used to restrict the dates that make up the TSV.  For example, if the TSV is on the Project Object, and you set the Date Constraint Start to be Schedule Start and Finish to be Schedule Finish, the users will only be able to enter TSV's in the range Schedule Start to Schedule Finish.

Yeah Exactly. But, we are not able to enter the TSV if the Schedule Start is equal to Schedule Finish.
