  • 1.  What to do with a SSL certificate during CA PPM upgrade?

    Posted Dec 14, 2018 08:30 AM

Hi. We are facing an upgrade soon, from CA PPM 15.1 to 15.5, and currently we are using a SSL certificate for CA PPM. Should be do something with the certificate ? or we can maintain the same?

The SSL certificate is installed directly in the application server of CA PPM.

Notes: There is no load balancer involved. CSA does not use certificate. Jaspersoft does not use certificate.

During the upgrade we might change the Database server, but the Application server will remain the same.

Given that, is it necessary to update the certificate ?

The certificate certifies the URL that you use to access the application ; so as long as that is not changing then you would be OK.

You would possibly need to re-install the certificate once the application is upgraded though - something to check anyway (but only if the upgrade touched the third-party products and I'm not sure that it does.)

Thank you David.  We will work with that.

Isn't your DEV or TEST environment set-up the same, so that you can verify what happens?

Oh yes, it is. We are just facing the planning phase for now, but we will test it first in DEV.
