  • 1.  Why we scrapped upgrade project to New UI (15.5)

New UI/UX is awesome no doubt! But for Customers who use PPM for years, it adds no value, it just looks awesome and misses 70% or even more Native Functionality.

What's missing (Show Stoppers) that resulted into not upgrading to 15.5>>

    On New UX you cannot

    • See processes
    • Differentiate between Locked and unlocked attributes
    • See Sub objects , custom objects
    • See Subpages
    • Secure pages or Sections

We cannot keep users toggling between New and Classic PPM

We are exactly one year from Last big release (15.1) where we had same expectations with New UI and it has moved snail pace since. 1 year is long enough (as a consumer at least)

Blue Prints is much needed improvement but it is still in the infant stage that is missing all above mentioned bullet items.

I hear what you are seeing and partially agree with it.

The new UI brings many good things and allows the user organizations to to get more benefit from the tool with less effort than Classic PPM. The new UI is even more suited to the way organizations or more so the users want to work today. Tha.t is what is being bought

What I agree with is that the new UI is not there yet to replace the Classic PPM and if an organization has spend the effort to utilize the Classic PPM functionality heavily the new UI is not there yet to replace it. Product management tells me that they are working hard to get further with the new UI. Also remember that it  took some twenty years to develop the Classic PPM if you start counting from Hoskins and Project Manager Workbench 1 for DOS.

Well, help is on the way.  Using 15.5 with the Channels feature and the Rego Channel Pack, you can add classic pages to the new UX.

You could even create a project dedicated just to CA PPM Administration.  You never need to go into the Classic UI again.

Come check out the webinar for details on it.
