Datamart Extraction is running very slow into our Clarity 14.3 with Oracle 12c.
Identified culprit is NBI_POPULATE_OBS_DIM_SP and most probably NBI_POPULATE_OBS_RECURSIVE_SP() which is called eventually.
With regards to configuration is as per CA guidelines except Oracle 12c compatibility is set to 12.2 and not 11g.
Open a case with CA but no luck. DBA couldn't help either.
Has anyone faced this issue? Thanks in advance for help.
With Oracle 12 there was regression and there is workaround, not sure if you tried this.
To optimize performance for environments using Oracle 12c R1 or R2, follow the steps below.
If you have local installations of Oracle 12c R1 or R2, you might detect a regression issue with Oracle 12c when ORDERED hint is used in structured queries. As an option, we recommend applying the following fix locally. From a command prompt, enter this series of commands in Oracle:
sqlplus / as sysdba ALTER SYSTEM SET "_fix_control" = '17800514:0'; Exit;
We have that documented in 15.3 change impact guide
Change Impact and Upgrade (On Premise) - CA PPM - 15.3 - CA Technologies Documentation
Thank you for your response. We changed this just now but, procedure (NBI_POPULATE_OBS_DIM_SP) is running for more 15+ mins so I'm assuming it has not made any changes.
DBA has question that: Is Clarity 14.3 certified for 12C multitenant architecture? Do you have any insights on this?
No we don't support database as multi tenant but we have plans to make that compatible soon.
Do you have any update or information on how soon Clarity 14.3 will be "officially certified" with Oracle 12c multi tenant? Apart from the datamart extraction job issue(which is now fixed), we are not experiencing any issues with v14.3 & Oracle 12c multi tenant in our development environments.
We do support new stack/feature only in new upcoming release. I am sorry 14.3 will not be supported. However I had a discussion on this and we will soon officially support it.
Also can you please let us know the solution for Datamart Extraction Job so that it can help other community members.
