Advance reporting link navigates to blank page in Jaspersoft installation

Hi All,

 

I have installed jaspersoft in our server and configured the CSA (didnt create any organization, using default organization ). Then generate keystre file and place the same file in the tomcat folder of jaspersoft server. Imported the content also.

I am able to login to jasper console. Added the necessary right to admin user and ran the create and update  jaspersoft user job also.

 

When i click on the advanced reporting, am getting blank page only. i am attaching jasper console page and CSA reporting subtab page for your reference.

 

Please help me on this.

Hi Agin,

 

That shouldn't be an issue, if you do browser level tracing using F12 do you see any errors or blocking?

Hi Suman,

 

One more question regarding the DWH configuration in CSA. We are using oracle db as backend. In CSA, its asking for Login Name and Password.

What is this login name ? Is this is the DWH schema name and password we have to give here.

The errors are very vague to troubleshoot without seeing the environment. Regarding your DWH login name it is the schema user name and password. Please see the details in the case.

Looks like you have HTTPS connection to CA PPM, do you have HTTPS set up in Jaspersoft. What is the CA PPM version, and what is the SSL setting you have

We are using CA PPM 14.3 and jaspersoft version is going to use is 6.1.0. 

 

We are using HTTPS connection to CA PPM load balancer. Loadbalancer to  App server are communicating with http protocol.

For jaspersoft, we are using http protocol to communicate (link for jaspersoft console:http://pww.dev.bo.clarity.xxxx.com:8080/reportservice  )

There is a known bug in CA PPM where browser thinks when you navigate from htttps to http it thinks vulnerable and stops it. Can you apply patch 5 of 14.3 and test.

 

CLRT-79397: "SSL is used but processed externally" setting in the NSA breaks the ability to run a report in Advanced Reporting.

Hi All,

 

We have updated our application with patch 5 (now version is 14.3.0.298.05) After patching we have done this steps also

 

     a)  From <install_dir>/bin directory command prompt, enter the following command to upgrade the report content:

admin content-jaspersoft csk -userName <superuser> -password <password> upgrade -retryCount 50

 

     b) Restart all PPM services.

 

     c) Run the Load Data Warehouse Access Rights job.

 

Still we are getting the same error. I am attaching the browser console for your reference.

Hi Suman,

 

Regarding the Clarity Bug CLRT-79397, We have installed Patch 5 and it does not work as intended in a load balanced environment.

When the HTTPS is enabled at load balancer level, and communication happens b/w LB and App server in HTTP Protocol, in that case patch 5 does not give expected result and still throws the Mixed Content issue in Chrome.

 

We have 2 app servers which are load balanced.

 

Although this patch works amazingly well in our lower environments where there is no load balancing.

 

Note : Our CSA has correct setting, SSL is used but processed externally.

if you have HTTPS enabled in load balancer then ideally your communication should be HTTPS end to end, what you can do to eliminate the load balancer is install HTTPS on the app server and then hit the URL and see how it goes.

     I cannot understand it, a load balancer can very well have an HTTP connection with underlying web servers but can present the same to other networks as HTTPS connection. That is the way to avoid implementing SSL on every single app server.

     This is a production environment and I cannot try anything like this that too when theoretically this patch fix was supposedly developed to resolve this issue. Also, if having an HTTPS load balancer means to have every other app server to have HTTPS too then what is the point of having 'SSL Used but processed Externally' option in CSA.

 

I believe it is requirement miss or lack of testing at CA part before they released the patch.

It is the problem with load balancer, we do have customers running in our own ondemand and we are using the same set up and it does run quite well.

One more question regarding DWH.

 

Our DB team has created DWH schema, table spaces and DB link also. We tested DB link using this query from DWH schema ( SELECT count(1) FROM SRM_RESOURCES@PPMDBLINK) we are getting output.

 

in CSA status of datawarehouse is showing as available...But when we configure CSA  datawarehouse tab, we are getting the error "NSA-0125 Database link does not exit.

If you have created the DB link at database then you need to keep the field checked Custom Database Link( Leave the field unchecked to create a database link. Check the value if you have already created a database link in the database. )

I have doubt in Import the Data Warehouse Oracle Database Backup Image (Oracle).

 

1. 1.    In the CA PPM installation media, locate the Oracle PPM_DWH database image in the <root>/database folder.

This step refers to the application server dwhschema in the root/database folder. correct me, if am wrong.

how i can locate the file? is it is the xml files are mentioned as image in the folders like view, table, procedure, packagebody etc.

The DWH is a database where data is copied from PPM to DWH, this schema is nothing to do with application server.
