  • 1.  Task WBS not getting coppied from templates to the projects

    Hi All,

     

    We are in Clarity 13.1.

    We usually create projects from template in our organization.

    Project templates are defaulted with some set of default task which gets copied to projects upon creation along with some other information automatically.

    Recently we observed that the tasks are not getting copied to created project from template automatically.

    There is no error in the logs .I did try to take a trace but couldn’t see anything there as well.

    I did cross check the templates it does contain the generic task which we want to roll over to the project upon creation.

    Not sure what could be the root cause of the issue.

    Is there any internal trigger which is responsible for this copying?

    Did anyone else has faced this issue?

    Any inputs would be of great help!!

    Hi Supriya,

     

    Some questions that I may ask myself when such a thing happens:-

     

    1. Was the Project Template created from an already present Project Template or was it created from a fresh Project Template? If yes, this could lead to differences.

    2. Are you choosing the correct Partition when the Project is getting created in case if there are multiple Project Partitions available?

    3. Are there any default values selected for attributes used in the Project Template related to the Project/Task object(s)?

    Have you recently added or activated any processes based on that template?

    Thanks for your inputs.

    Yes you are correct.

    I have recently created a process based on those template as there was requirement for auto populating of a field.

    Upon bringing the process to Draft mode the issue is resolved.

    But I very much need the process to be activated as per the requirement.

    Is there any way to resolve this issue without drafting the process (I mean keeping the process intact working)?

    Could you please elaborate why linking the template to the process is creating the issue?
