Hi Lynn, I am assuming that your question is related to PPM as Hal and Thomas have redirected.
Our organisation does it in a pretty rudimentary way - as we have few part-time resources. We have an 'Other Work' investment created for Part-Time resource allocations. Access to managing resource allocations for this is restricted to a select team of Workforce Managers who also manage the approval processes for the work engagement to be part-time. So if a resource moves to being part-time (say 4 days a week), they allocate 0.2 FTE (1 day a week) of the resources time in the detailed team plan from the appropriate date. This means that 20% of the allocation is accounted for already, and the resource needs to then be managed for work demand against the remaining 4 days to properly manage utilisation.
It makes it easy for us to then report against everyone having an availability of 100%, with the part-time resources properly accounted for by the Other Work investment. It is manual though, and heavily reliant on the team of Workforce Managers.
We would ideally like to source this information from our HR systems - which is what we are driving to, but our HR systems are not at the right level of maturity either from an application perspective or the people processes in using this platform.
Regards,
Chris
