  • 1.  Set CSA - how to connect to independent BD server

    Posted Nov 04, 2015 08:34 PM

    Hello

    I have 2 separate servers:

    1. APP Server, CSA

    2. BD Server

After installing CA PPM, I set the CSA to communicate with the server and external database installation is complete.

    The server names are:

    - Applications: CAPPM142

    - Database: DBCAPPM142

    Hi John,

Your connection looks to be defined fine, so I would think the problem is with the actual network connection. Please try the following:

    1. Ensure you are able to successfully connect to you database with SQL management tool with the same credentials as above in CSA
    2. If yes, please specify the server IP in NSA instead of hostname, and restart the services. See if that works
    3. If it doesn't, please check if you can ping the ip/hostname of the DB server from the Clarity server. If ping doesn't work, you have to work with your network administrator to solve the issue
    4. If ping works, check with your network team if the appropriate port for SQL server are open on Clarity server (1433)

Please let me know how it goes.

    Kind Regards
