Hi Everyone, Project name is not getting displayed in the List layout (HOME tab -> Projects) in our Production Environment. Could you please suggest me the reasons for this.
Have you moved it to a secure subpage?
Refresh application caches or stop/start the application.
Any screen shot to show how it looks in project list screen?
Sorry I was not Specific in Explaining my Doubt.
In Admins side under Project Object We have made the "Name" attribute as hidden but At Home Tab->Projects there we have Setting Icon in that Configure option we have moved Name into Selected Columns , now the Issue is Under name Column the Project name is not getting displayed. at present in the list the Name field is blank and rest other fields like OBS path , Project Code column is showing Data.
Now we should make that Field as Editable.
So making the attribute hidden has caused this.
Now Im trying to replicate the same issue in another Environment.
I have created a String Attribute "Temporary Name"and configured it to Project Properties Page I have entered "Arizona" as data and saved it.I made that field as hidden by providing Default value now its not visible in Project Properties page.I navigated to Home-> Projects there I have configured it to list, now I'm able to see Temporary Name column but the Field is not empty its showing "Arizona"and its editable.
But In our Production system the Data in the Name column has no data.
Sorry I'm really struggling to understand what you are trying to do ; you had a "problem" , we think that found out why, but you are now doing something else (perhaps stock attributes behave different to custom attributes) and still acting like you have a problem?
Ok Thanks for your time David.
That is the way it works for me in v13.3
I give a default value to project name attribute
That allows me to set the project name field hidden in edit properties view (there is no hidden option in the list view)
Consequently the project name is not displayed in the project list view (which is user customized)
With a custom field it does not work like that for me.
New attribute with a default
Set hidden in the properties view.
Added to the edit properties view (notice the ~)
Not displayed in the edit properties view
However, the values are not displayed in the list view either when it is hidden.
Not even if I choose Populate Null Values with the Default
My conclusion is that it is the standard functionality.
Thanks a Lot Urma.
If you want to achieve that no one able to edit the project name in the properties page but can able to view its value in the list page,
You can do it using subpage and put some restriction so that only admin people can view it.
Now, field is not hidden, it can be visible to the users in the list page.
