Hi everybody, good afternoon =).
I'm having some troubles at installing Jaspersoft into environment I have mounted =S, because when trying follow steps of Clarity Installation Guide, at executing instruction 'install.bat', this one throws next message: 'echo off "please set valid JRE_HOME"', but I don't know is showing this error, because I have set 'JAVA_HOME' variable and also on 'Path' is set '%JAVA_HOME%\bin. Java version I have installed is 1.8.0_60; I found java installer into Clarity media installation on 'Java' folder, subfolder 'Windows'. I attach some screenshots describing this situation
Could you someone of you what problem is ocurring with Jaspersoft installation, please???
The problem you have is you have installed JDK and JRE in the same folder and its causing a conflict. So uninstall Java completely and reinstall. While doing that install JDK on the same location and let the JRE point to default location something similar to JRE_HOME = C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_60
And set JRE_HOME as path and run the install. Hope that helps
Hi Suman, how are you =)???
I have a question: if I reinstall java, and I change JRE location as you mention, it doesn't affects into Clarity installation, or I have to reinstall all Clarity newly???, because Clarity installation and configuration is ponting to java folder location I have at this moment.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best Regards, Daniel =).
I am good, hope you are doing well.
If you uninstall java you are going to keep the same Java path once you install again, you are just changing the JRE. As in PPM we mention only the JAVA Path so JRE will not have any issue.
I have the exact same set up similar to what you have
Look, I resolved this situation, just was create JRE_HOME variable, as you mentioned previously. I left same installation path as I have on screenshot I sent when I created this topic. Right now I'll install Jaspersoft.
But arises a new question, I hope you can help me: how can I get procedure or steps for creating Jaspersoft database into SQL Management Studio???, because in 'Clarity Installation Guide' just comes procedure for creating database USER, but query for create DB doesn't exist.
Thanks in advance for your valuable help on this topic.
Best Regards, Daniel =).
Great news, I would like to keep JRE in different path altogether hence was the suggestion, but absolutely fine with your approach too. For Jaspersoft you need to create a database user with the necessary permission and then while installing Jaspersoft will create tables automatically and thats part of installation.
Hi Suman, thank you for your help on this topic, I saw way to create DB for Jaspersoft to the old way =P.
Thank you for your contribution!!! Daniel =D.
There is not that much documentation available on the db creation.
Log in as SA and right click the databases and select New Database.
Jaspersoft Installation Query
might also help a little.
Hi urmas, how are you????
Thanks so much for your information, that's right my friend there is no much information about Jaspersoft db creation =S. I'll be taking into consideration your contribution =D.
Thank you!!! Daniel.
Happy to say I stand to be corrected.
There is plenty of detail on how to create and setup the database for Jaspersoft.
It is not under
Install Reports Server
but slightly before that under
Installing and Upgrading
Install and Configure Advance Reporting with Jaspersoft
Create the JasperReports Server Schema and Set Permissions
That includes among others the things that are hard coded which you must use in your installation as well.
