  • 1.  Domain not visible while creating Ad-Hoc view in Advance Reporting (Clarity 14.3)

    Posted Nov 17, 2015 08:10 AM

    Hi All,

I am having following rights but the domains are not visible when i create an Ad-Hoc View.

Advanced Reporting - Ad Hoc Create

    Advanced Reporting - Dashboard Create

    Advanced Reporting - Report Create

    Advanced Reporting - Navigate

    Advanced Reporting - Domain Create

    c2.JPG

Navigation done : Advance Reporting > Ad Hoc Views > Create (Screenshot attached )

After that i tried giving all the rights i.e. 'Advanced Reporting - Administer' & 'Advanced Reporting - Data Source Create' too and then navigated to same, now i can see the domains.

    c3.JPG

Now in above i have selected the data sources as 'Resource Management'

    c4.JPG

And in the next step selected Resource Name as selected fields.

    c5.JPG

Now when i drag 'Resource Name' field to the Columns text box above i get this error everytime.

the tomcat logs shows this error.

    2015-11-17 11:38:35,299 ERROR CustomTenantBuiltInParameterProvider,http-apr-8080-exec-8:338 -

    Hi Anant,

Are you doing this from CA PPM --> Advance reporting or Jasper console?

I assumed the same but wanted to check, the error says jasperadmin is not found which means the content is not uploaded correctly. can you delete the organization and reimport again.

So if i understand correctly you deleted the organization and reimported the same and generated the keystore and you still have the error. Then please raise a support case and we will work with you

we checked the tomcat logs for jaspersoft server and getting below this error, it's looking like schema issue Jaspersoftserver is not supporting the DWH for clarity 14.3

    see the logs -

we ran the query for 'DWH_RES_SECURITY_V' view  and found that 'USER_ID' column doesn't exists in the view.

    select * from ( select "DWH_RES_RESOURCE"."RESOURCE_NAME" as "DWH_RES_RESOURCE_RESOURCE_NAME"
    from "PPM_DWH"."DWH_RES_RESOURCE" "DWH_RES_RESOURCE"
    inner join "PPM_DWH"."DWH_RES_SECURITY_V" "DWH_RES_SECURITY_V" on ("DWH_RES_RESOURCE"."RESOURCE_KEY" = "DWH_RES_SECURITY_V"."RESOURCE_KEY")
    where ("DWH_RES_SECURITY_V"."USER_UID" = 'scc0785')
    group by "DWH_RES_RESOURCE"."RESOURCE_NAME"
    order by "DWH_RES_RESOURCE_RESOURCE_NAME"
    ) where ROWNUM <= 1000

It looks like you have some issue with DWH schema, i just queried and I can see USER_ID. So you can drop your DWH schema and reimport from the ISO file where template is provided.

    Here are the steps

    1. Drop the DWH schema

    2. Import the DWH schema from ISO

    3. Ensure DB link is set up

    4. Run the datawarehouse jobs.

thanks, now we are able to create ad-hoc views

But the domain is still not visible to the users which have the following rights

Advanced Reporting - Ad Hoc Create

    Advanced Reporting - Dashboard Create

    Advanced Reporting - Report Create

    Advanced Reporting - Navigate

We checked the user and roles permission over domain in repository and following is the observation -

Role 'ROLE_ADHOC_DESIGNER' is having 'Read Only*' rights over the domain.

    untitled.bmp

User is having the role i.e. 'ROLE_ADHOC_DESIGNER'

    c3.JPG

But still the user is not having 'Read Only*'   rights.

Also why there is two roles in above screenshot i.e. ''ROLE_ADHOC_DESIGNER' this also same for report designer and all others.

this is same with all other aslos like dashboard, domain , datasource and not same for CSK* ones and ADMINS.

    c2.JPG

    please help.

    Hi Anant,

I believe I request for a case before where it needs deeper analysis, but it looks like you are hitting a bug where until you give Advanced Reporting - Administrator, you dont see the domain/reports. So try the workaround

    1. Log directly into Jaspersoft UI with the superuser account

    2. In the Toolbar -> select "View" -> "Repository"

    3. Then expand root -> <your organization name> -> CA PPM -> Then Right-Click on the "Reports" Folder and select "Permissions"

    4. Scroll down and find the role of "ROLE_USER"

    5. The role has "No Access" to this folder -> Give that role "Read Only"

    6. When logging into CA Clarity PPM and choosing "Advance Reporting" - users with only the access right of "Advanced Reporting - Navigate" can see and run reports

    Hope this helps

    Regards

    Suman Pramanik

I just tested this and if a user cannot see the domains via "Create Adhoc View", you need to give "Role_User" read only rights to the domain (which makes sense).

Your workaround above looks to be from defect CLRT-79026 JasperSoft Content Doesn't import Repository with correct permissions, Advance Reporting - Navigate right does not allow to see/run reports

I opened a support case to mention my findings above.  I am guessing it is the same defect, and you may want to append this information to it.  I will let support decide that.

    Thanks,

    Neil
