we are creating some projects by XOG from template. We have got enabled auditing for attribute Project Manager (manager_id), but when we create the project, there is not audited that the PM was entered/changed (manager is filled in the XOG message which creates the project). Is it possible to audit the first value entered to the field?

There are separate audit settings for changes and inserts and deletes - have you got the field turned on for audit on insert?
(alternatively, is the original "created by" on the record not enough to say who originally set the manager)
Thank you David, the audit was set only for Changes, after I set it for Insert action as well it works fine now.
That should be normally audited if you have set audit on create for it. The problem is that the user that is recorded is the one that did the XOGing.
Are you saying that there is not value recorded in the audit trail after project is created?
