  • 1.  What are the financial attributes of non-labor roles used for?

    Posted Oct 07, 2015 12:07 PM

We are setting up non-labor roles and corresponding non-labor resources (creating a 1-1 match between the two).

We are planning to use the financial attributes below for the roles and expenses (the latter two for categorization purposes):

    > Financially Active

    > Transaction Class

    > Resource Class

Q1: What is the significance of checking "Financially Active"?

Q2: Do the classes serve any purpose other than categorization by class for reporting purposes?

Q1 - Financially Active allows financial transactions to be posted for Resources.

Q2 - In addition to reporting, classes can serve to determine the rates and costs for forecasting and actual transactions

    Additional Information:

Adding Financial Properties to Roles and Non-Labor Resources allows you to create financial cost plans with rates associated with the financial properties on the roles using the 'populate' feature by team allocations or by task assignments.

Adding Financial Properties to Non-Labor Resources allows you to post actual financial transactions.

Note: Roles are not allowed to have financial actual transactions and do not have Department/Location attributes.  Roles can use the Team Staff OBS Unit for populating a cost plan by team allocations, grouped by Department if desired.
