Has anyone had any where access rights belonging to a Custom Object disappear?

After further research, it seems that this was caused by the deletion of a custom object, however there was no relationship between the deleted custom object and the sub object that was missing the rights, I have opened a CA Support ticket and they are still looking into it .

The rights are gone, i cant even add them either through the Groups/Resources of the Object itself, this is in a Sub Object of Ideas

No I have not, I am trying to see if anyone has seen this behavior before I raise a ticket.

We had this issue in two of our lower environments. CA kept telling us that it was a user issue with XOG. Which we disagreed with. No further traction with CA on this. If we get anywhere on it I will post here.

Not answering your question, but just thinking in writing...

I take you started this discussion, because the rights were there and now they are not.

The reason for asking whether it was a master object or subobject is that the rights used to behave differently.  Earlier they were listed under the master object like Project - something.

However, on the 14.2 sandbox they seem to be listed just for the subobject directly. Then again they are differently displayed for the OOTB subobject Task and a custom subobject of the Project.

Are the rights still in the database?

    select
    g.group_name,
    g.lic_right_type,
    g.global_right_type  right_type_name,
    g.description,
    g.group_code,
    g.id,
    g.right_type,
    g.is_automatic,
    g.is_active
    from cmn_sec_groups_v g
    where g.language_code ='en'
    and right_type ='SYSTEM'

your right name being the group name or the right code being the group_code

BTW which Clarity version is that.

Nope the rights are no longer in the DB, We are on 14.2, looks like the only way to restore these rights is to XOG out the data,  Delete the sub object entirely, Recreate the Sub Object and XOG the data back in, however I am trying to find out what the root cause is to this.

Has Anyone else seen this before.

I raised a support ticket with CA and after providing them with a copy of our DB they determined it was a defect and filed it as so. Waiting to hear back from them.

Was this a situation where the object being deleted had a similar name that was also a part of another object?

I.e. when deleting custom object 'aa' it also impacted another called 'aabcd' or otherwise similarly contained within the name?

If so the defect was reported as CLRT-79716, and if all goes well it is targeted for inclusion in the Customer Resolved Defects list/document for the next release to come.

If you were given a different defect than this, please let me know.
