Benefit of set up Task ID

Dear All,

 

Task ID is not mandatory when create task.

Can anyone tell me if I leave for blank what I will lose for using this attribute. I am using PMO Accelerator and I found many OOTB report displayed this attribute. Also, I found that WBS sort doesn't work good and cann't control or setting this value. Can Task ID help for this ? Any guide or idea how how to running task id ??

 

Any point in CA PPM for concern, please kindly share

It's a good practice to mention a task id for easy identification. There may be a scenario where you have a number of tasks with same names. Having a task id would help you easily identify it. Although, you have the internal id of the task available, having a meaningful task id will help

I think the task ID is also used in XOGing.

In OWB in some areas some users delete accidentally the task name when they try to remove the task. Doing that a couple of times results in having a list of nameless and ID less tasks.
