Creating a Template and "forcing" Financial Status to "Open" as well as Location to a specific location?

Hi,

 

We created project templates for our different project managers. However, there are cases when we would like to "impose" the Financial Status and Location of the projects that are created from some templates.

 

The reason for this is that we don't want our Project manager's group to have access to the Settings page, since only the PMOs do have this access right.

 

Therefore, is it possible, to "impose" the Financial Status and Location to projects created based on a certain template?

Not really answering your question, but just wondering in print....

My first recollection without verifying it is that the templates are for copying WBS and assignment data like tasks, assigned resources, efforts dates and the project financial properties are outside.

If that is correct then what you would like to do is not possible to do with templates and the options you have are the attribute defaults, process and XOGing.

If you do that then you should also populate all the other required fields in your version of CA PPM in project financial properties so that you do not create data that violates the integrity rules set.

Actually, what's going on is that you can not create projects from a template having resources with an empty "Departement OBS" field...
Also, watch out for the non-human resources, such as the Default Expenses, etc. they might be hidden...
