Just wondering if the release notes for Clarity 13.3 in the area of Clients and details on requirements for jre installation reflect correctly the fact that there is  and option to install jre  when OWB install package installs schedule connect?

Apparently that is not the standard install and cannot be used by other programs and do not interfere with other installs of jre on the same workstation.

    Hi Martti,

This information is covered in the OWB release notes.

JRE Bundled with the Open Workbench Setup

Starting this release, Oracle JRE is bundled with the Open Workbench setup. When you install the interface, the supported version of JRE is installed automatically in the Schedule Connect installation directory.
Open Workbench uses only the internal JRE version. This approach eliminates issues that arise when the workstation Windows installation of the JRE is not the correct version or the JRE is missing. An IT department no longer has to update a JRE version when deploying the Open Workbench.

Similarly, we have information for Microsoft Porject in the CA Clarity PPM release notes: Chapter 2: New and Enhanced Features > New Features > CA Microsoft Project Interface Changes > Java Runtime Environment Is Provided.

    Thank you.

    Regards,
    Rosy

Thank  you for confirming that the Clarity release notes are not accurate.

The user does not need to acquire jre for the install of OWB or MS Project.

Though an interesting solution, because the user needs to install jre for XOG client even if OWB is install has installed a supported version of jre.
