    Hi

Thank you everyone who attended our Symantec Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) Roadmap session on 3/4/2020.

As promised, please find the presentation in a PDF format below.

In addition, here is the summery of Q&A section:

    Question:
Has the licensing model changed? Given, it seems one packaged solution. Earlier, one had to buy separate licenses for Governance Minder and Identity Portal.

    Answer:
We are no longer selling the individual products SKU (Identity Manager, Identity Governance and Portal). New and PLA based customers will always get access to the IGA SKU (Identity Suite) while customers who are in the process of renewal should work with their account team to gain access to the entire solution.

    Question:
What about root access in the vApp?

    Answer:
The Virtual Appliance is a "close garden" solution that is not like any "regular" server in your IT infrastructure. As such you should plan accordingly. As an administrator, you have access to multiple CLI commands which will allow you to configure your solution.
Note that the only approved software that can be run on the vApp is our software and no other component can and should be installed on the vApp. If there is a need for a 3rd party software to run on the solution, like a monitoring agent, we documented how it can be achieved in our documentation space (see links below). As always we would like to hear from you on any other business/IT requirements you may have.

    Question:
What are the End-of-Service dates for the current 14.1, 14.2 and 14.3 versions and what will be the impact on a customer who do not upgrade on time?

    Answer:
Here are the official EOS dates for our solutions:

    • 14.1 - 7/31/2020
    • 14.2 - 5/31/2021
    • 14.3 - 4/30/2022
Once a version is going EOS, we will no longer provide Hotfixes, cumulative patches  (CPs) or any code change on that version. Customers will still be able to open support cases but the support will be limited to any public documentation that is available.

Customers who running soon to be EOS versions, like 14.1, should start plan for an upgrade as soon as possible. Remember, you can always upgrade to the latest version from any older version like from 12.6 to 14.3 etc. Please follow our upgrade guide (See link below)

For any additional question, please reach out to your account team.

    Question:
When will SAML/OIDC be available for Identity Portal?

    Answer:
We are currently working on developing this capability for customers who are running versions 14.2 and 14.3. An open BETA invitation will be publish in the next few weeks in the community.

    Question:
Will SCIM 2.0 support be provided for the IM 14.2 release?

    Answer:
We will only release the outbound connector for SCIM 2.0 for customers who are running 14.2. The inbound API will only be available for customers running version 14.3 onward.

    Question:
When will support for Jaspersoft 7.5 be ready?

    Answer:
This is a roadmap item that will be evaluated in a later time

    Question:
You mentioned that Symantec has a release cadence for Cumulative patches, can you please elaborate?

    Answer:
In order to allow you, the customer, to spend more time in solving your business problems than spending it in upgrading the solution, we have made the following changes to our release cycles:

    1. We are going to release Cumulative Patches for the entire solution every 4-6 months.
    2. These patches will include both fixes and product enhancements
    3. Starting from version 14.3, all CP numbers will be the same across the multiple product lines.
Note that customers are still require to apply the latest CP level in order to receive any hotfix from our engineering group.

    Question:
When is IDM next release or CP?

    Answer:

We are currently aiming to release CPs for both 14.2 and 14.3 in the next 2-3 months. Please stay tuned for further announcements in the communities.

    Question:
Any plans to improve IDM interface and when REST capability will be available in IDM?

    Answer:
We are currently working on a SCIM 2.0, REST based, inbound interface for the Identity Manager. Future expansion of any REST based API is a roadmap item to be evaluated in a later time.

    Question:
Does CVE-2020-1938, which affects Tomcat earlier than 8.5.51 has any impact on the solution.

    Answer:
We are still evaluating this CVE and will update the community in the near future.

    Question:
There were any improvement in the report mode of Jasper?

    Answer:
We provide a set of OOTB reports that we have build for the solution. Customers can build their own reports using any new functionalities available in Jasper

    Question:
Reporting does not support multi-languages (tokenized environment). is there a plan for that to have reports working on a multi-languages IDM ?

    Answer:
This is a roadmap item to be evaluated in a later time.

    Question:
Will there be an option to do push approvals from an email that you get on your phone?

    Answer:
As one of the most voted ideas out there in the community, this is definitely something we will want to address in our future releases.

    Question:
Is there a plan so run a certification simulation (simulate a certification, see how it looks, who are the managers, etc) before running a production cert. basically to test resolution of Managers?

    Answer:
This is a roadmap item to be evaluated in a later time.
