You need to see Use Case number 2 here:

upgrading CA Identity Manager (that supports CA Business Intelligence 4.x) to a release (that supports CA Business Intelligence Reports Server 6.2, 6.3, 6.4.3),The process only talks about using a fresh database, I cannot find any information on schema changes from report server 4.x to 6.x so I am unsure if you can use the same database. You could create a "dummy" database that is a copy of the current database and as a test and use that while testing an upgrade, but since this is not documented at Broadcom we are unsure of what the results may be.
3) Migrate custom objects:

Subject: Upgrade Identity Manger from 12.6 SP7 to 14.3 (Reporting Server)
Hi There,
We are looking at doing an in-place upgrade for a customer from IM 12.6 SP7 to 14.3. By checking the online documentation, it seems that all components except the reporting server will be ok for an in-place upgrade.
According to the documentation "Upgrade the Report Server", I will need to (Use Case 2) "Install and configure CA Business Intelligence JasperReports Server."
Basically, I will need to set up a "CA Business Intelligence JasperReports Server 6.4.3" to replace "CA Business Intelligence 4.x" that is already in the existing 12.6 SP7 environment.
My questions are:
- When we install the new "CA Business Intelligence JasperReports Server 6.4.3", can it use the existing snapshot database and report database that are used by the existing "CA Business Intelligence 4.x" report server?
- If the answer is NO, we will have to create new snapshot database and report database for the new "CA Business Intelligence JasperReports Server 6.4.3". Then we need to know if we have to migrate the existing data in the existing databases to the new databases and how to do it.
- We have a few custom reports defined in the environment. Can anyone provide pointers/suggestions/tips/tools that might help with converting them to the new reporting server. I could not find any documentation about this.
Thanks
JP
