  • 1.  How to submit a task in IDM with no object?

We have a PolicyXpress that calls a procedure in Oracle to selectively clean Task Persistence. We need to schedule this PX to run daily. In IDM 12.5, we used to schedule a custom task with an empty object and trigger the PX on this task completion. In IDM 12.6, the empty object no longer exists. Now, to submit a task, we have to modify some actual object in IDM, but this is not the intention. We also can use an external web page in the task. This works, but the page must be hosted somewhere plus response "No changes made" is confusing to the customer. What are other ways to trigger a PX in IDM by a scheduled task that does not make any other changes?

You can design the task to run without any changes.  When you select the profile screen for the task simply create a copy of a task screen in use and on the profile page mark it to always run even if nothing has changed.  This will run with no messages and can be used to trigger PX policies.
