  • 1.  How install CA JasperReports poiting to a existing(empty) db

    Posted Jul 06, 2017 08:48 AM

    Hi,

We need to prepare a procedure to install CA JasperReports where ( due company´s policy ) the setup is not allowed to create the db.

The database must be already be created ( empty ) prior to product installation.

Apparently the setup is failing because the db is already created.

Despite the rights error message, i think this is really because the fact the db is already created.

[java] Preinstallation check failed with the following errors [Java] 16106 INVALID_APPSERVER_STATUS [Java] 16220: DBUSERNAME_INSUFFICIENT_RIGHTS [Java] 16220: DBUSERNAME_INSUFFICIENT_RIGHTS Build failed.

Any suggestion on how to setup this way ? Using a pre-existing empty database ?

    Regards,

    Lincoln

If looking specifically for Jasper, here are instructions in this thread

    http://community.jaspersoft.com/documentation/jasperreports-server-install-guide/v56/manually-creating-jasperreports-server-database

If you are looking for the CA Data Protect instructions, run an admin install, and copy the scripts to manually execute. Be sure to review the scripts and make sure you have all the details before execution.

Keep in mind, limiting permissions will inhibit functions of the application from working. in some cases, you could cause the system to become unstable or not able to be patched/updated.

If you looking for CA Identity Manager have one idea in our community since is mandatory use oracle system user to install jasper with db in oracle here to vote.

Please, vote in this idea to help suggest include this in future releases of CABI installer for Jasper
