Device performance data in Vertica

How the monitored device performance data is mapped in Vertica DB ,whether it is stored with their device_ID or Ip address . Assume that i am doing to delete and re-add a device in 15 mins will my historical data will be affected ?

All tables for perf data are tied to an item_id.  Whether it's a device item_id or component item_id or tunnel/slapath/etc item_id.

IP is just an attribute on the device item.

Correct, when you delete a device item, all the data for that device and it's components items are no longer available.
