  • 1.  Specific functionality for specific alarms

    There are two alarms in spectrum

     

    'Management Agent Lost..'
    'Device Stopped responding to polls'

     

    The requirement is if the event is persistent for over two or more polls then only an alarm should fire up.
    If it is closing within next poll that is 5 mins. interval then no alarm should propagate.
    Is this something that we can achieve through CA Spectrum.

    The event id for the "Management Agent Lost" alarm is 0x10daa and the event id for the "Device Stopped responding to polls" alarm is 0x10d35. Modifying these events is not recommended or supported as they can adversely affect Spectrum's fault isolation algorithms which leads to undesirable results.

    However, what you can do is adjust the DCM Retry Count value on the model to achieve the same results. Reference SNMP Communication Attributes
