We have in Spectrum an Asset Sub-View on device models in Spectrum.  Default attributes are displayed like Serial number and device model that Spectrum gets via SNMP from the device.  We have created some custom attributes via XML editing and populated these custom attributes via a script.

So one custom attribute on each device model in Spectrum is called SiteType which is populated as values like Data Center, Sales, Office, HQ, Plant, Distribution Center, Warehouse.

So the question is, is there a mechanism in CA PM to dynamically retrieve the value of and display it in a viewable field in CA PM in a manner that we could say create groups off of it?

    Hello Jon,

There is no model attribute sharing like that at this time for the CAPM to Spectrum integration. Something like that would be worthwhile but would be best served submitted as an Idea post to request the new feature.

CAPM does have custom attributes that could be set up that might help get closer to the goal though. They just aren't shared with Spectrum.

Create Custom Attributes - CA Performance Management - 3.5 - CA Technologies Documentation

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks,

    Michael
