  • 1.  Switch stack export with modelinggateway to CMDB

    Is there a way to export the switch stacks and their serial numbers through the modeling gateway?

    They are of

      <SPECTRUMModelClass>10</SPECTRUMModelClass> <!-- Container --> But this returns too many unrelated items to add into the .xmlresource.xml.

    They can be narrowed down to :

    <SPECTRUMModelClass>10</SPECTRUMModelClass> <!-- Container -->

    <SPECTRUMModelTypeName>Chassis</SPECTRUMModelTypeName> <!-- Chassis --> but there doesnt appear to be the ability to do this in the .cmdbresource.xml

    What are my options?

    Could I change the SpectrumModelClass of these items to a custom modelclass?

    Is there a way to modify the .cmdresource.xml to be able to include these items?

    thanks

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

    You can try to follow the Tech Tip below but apply the same methodology to getting the serial number (as opposed to the Notes attribute):

    I dont actually seem to be able to output <SPECTRUMModelClass>10</SPECTRUMModelClass>

    I have tried with the Web API but that only outputs devices, not components.

    I will log a case and see what is recommended.
