  • 1.  Issue with Device Connected/Port Connected fields

    Posted Jan 11, 2018 06:11 AM

We have a new set-up of CA Spectrum with 10.2.1 version where for some of the devices after discover, CA Spectrum is unable to find the port connected/device connected fields and for some it is adding false values as device connected where their is no link between those devices and they are not connected in any manner.

Please let me know what could be the issue for this and how to overcome this.

Is there any attribute value under attributes to edit those values?

    Regards,

    Vishnu Prasad

There are lots of discovery algorithms that run depending upon what technologies the devices do or do not support.  There is no attribute that controls what the connectivity does.  In the discovery gui, there are discovery options that you can choose (most are on by default).

To try and figure out why the connections are not made, you can turn on the Autodiscovery debug (from the VNM – Component Detail – AutoDiscovery Control – Debug Options – Debug On).

Run the discovery again, or run a Reconfiguration – Discover Connections.  Once complete, disable the debug and on the SS you were trying to discover the connections on, review the $SPECROOT>/SS/AdiscDebug* file.

Also, you can manually destroy the connection if it shouldn't be there and manually create connection(s) if you wish...Right click the port and select "Start Connection" then choose the other devices port and right click and select "Connect with xxxx".
