CA Spectrum: Aruba Wireless Controllers and Access Points Licensing

If we wish to utilise the Aruba WC and AP support available with 10.2 , could anyone please advice how would the licensing be affected for Spectrum?

If we discover 4 WC which has 100 AP's as an example , would that consume 104 spectrum licenses ?

    Please advice

kiran_diwakar Nagesh_Jaiswal may be you can help here?

    Hi Phani

It's probably best to discuss with your CA Sales Rep for the details of licensing regarding your account, but this is the general licensing policy for APs:

    - If the AP is SNMP capable, then it counts towards 1 device license

    - If the AP is NON-SNMP capable (pingables), then for every 5 NON-SNMP APs will count towards 1 device license

For instance, in your example, lets say all AP's are SNMP-capable. Then Yes, 4 WLC + 100 AP = 104 licenses

    However, lets say all AP's in your example are NON-SNMP - then 4 WLC + (100 AP / 5 = 20 AP) = 24 licenses

    I hope that helps.
