Multiple Group Access to a Global Collection

As the title suggests, I am trying to configure a single GC that should be accessible by two different user groups with different access permissions. Each groups has it's own access string, but when I try to add both to the GC, it doesn't recognize them.  I am using the format "String1/String2" and the GC only works with either "String1" or "String2". Am I doing something wrong here?

Security Strings work with either '|' or '&'.

If you want a GC to be accessible by two groups of users with two different Security Communities, you need to set that Security String on the GC: "STRING1|STRING2". This will let users accessing the Security Community "STRING1" and users accessing the Security Community "STRING2" get access to the GC.
