  • 1.  Unable to discover a new Device: Spectrum

    Posted Sep 08, 2016 05:56 AM

    Hi,

I am having an issue discovering a new device in Spectrum. This is the first device of it's type in our network.
I have completed an SNMPwalk of the device and verified that both the MIB file and the communities are correct.
Using the MIB Tools, I can successfully contact the device and issue SNMP Queries, Gets and Sets.
I have verified that the network segment (and firewall) is posing no issues by testing with another device.

There are no other devices using this IP address, so it is not a conflict with another device from what I can tell.

I have included the output from the discovery console below.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Michael.

    Hi Michael,

You can also try a "Model by Type" (second icon from the left in OneClick under Topology tab) if you know what the expected model type is.  If you can succeed with a model by type then its probably in the Ip Exclusion list and you can check and remove the ip address that you are trying to discover.

    Best regards,

    Glenn

Check out knowledge document TEC1734144 - Spectrum is unable to AutoDiscover SNMPv2 devices when SNMPv3 community strings are first in the list

If that is not it, try putting ADISC in debug and checking for error in the ADISC debug file.
