  • 1.  Certification for Enterasys (Extreme) WLAN Controller

    Posted Dec 30, 2016 09:23 AM

    hello everyone!

    since days im trying to certificate an enterasys / Extreme WLAN Controller (C5210) so that i can query a specific OID (1.3.6.1.4.1.4329.15.3.3.4.5.1.2) and get all of my connected WLAN Users per SSID.

    OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.4329.15.3.3.4.5.1.2 returns the following:

    SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.4329.15.3.3.4.5.1.2.101 = Counter32: 51
    SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.4329.15.3.3.4.5.1.2.102 = Counter32: 10
    SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.4329.15.3.3.4.5.1.2.103 = Counter32: 0
    SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.4329.15.3.3.4.5.1.2.104 = Counter32: 16
    SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.4329.15.3.3.4.5.1.2.105 = Counter32: 0
    SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.4329.15.3.3.4.5.1.2.106 = Counter32: 0
    SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.4329.15.3.3.4.5.1.2.107 = Counter32: 0

    so my "Sub-OID" is .101 for SSID1, .102 for SSID2 and so on..

    after creating a vendor profile and loading the MIB, i can choose those OID (1.3.6.1.4.1.4329.15.3.3.4.5.1.2) and define it as "wireless interface" with the expression: wirelessClientsConnected (or something like that)..

    CA PM is recognizing all of my configuration, but it seems like that the way it counts my users per SSID isnt working as expected:

    for example, if i do a snmpwalk on the CLI, i get back  51 users for SSID .101

    CA PM tells me for the metric "Active WLAN users Total" something like this:

    anyone knows why CA PM is counting this wrong?

    here is my defined metric:

    Hello Paul,

    My apologies nobody has responded to this request for assistance since it was posted 10 days ago.

    This is likely a more complex answer than the forum my be meant for.

    We can try to answer this here in the forum if you want to upload your XML certification files and code you've created for this.

    Otherwise this may be better served opened as a new standard support case.

    Thanks,

    Michael
