    Great news

Is there any particular reason why an organization would upgrade to 9.4.4 instead of 10.x?

9.4.x is end of support as of May 31st, 2017, according to http://www.ca.com/us/support/ca-support-online/product-content/status/announcement-documents/2016/ca-spectrum-r9-4-x-end-of-service-announcement.aspx

    Hello lilah

There are some critical fixes for which our customers are eagerly were waiting for it. You would get a sense of it from some of the community discussion

    Thanks,

    Nagesh

Thanks for the quick reply Nagesh Jaiswal

Is it likely that this will be the last minor release for the 9.x release train?

    Hello lilah

That is correct. This is the last release for 9.x.

    Thanks,

    Nagesh

Still, why would people upgrade to 9.4.4 and not to 10.1.1 ? thanks, Veronique

I think it comes down to a matter of timing and effort needed to upgrade.  Some customers on r9.* releases have plans to upgrade to the r10* releases, so it doesn't make sense to install 9.4.4 unless it contains a fix that's needed now rather then waiting for the r10 upgrade.

Other customers already at a r9.4* release may feel installing 9.4.4 is a smaller jump them going to a r10*, requiring less testing and less downtime and it gives them fixes they need now.

Those are the types of scenarios and decision making I've experienced.

    Hope that helps,

    Rene'
