    Dears,

We are planning to have following scenario for implementation:

    SpectroServer  - Windows 2008 R2 SP1

    OneClick+RM - Windows 2008 R2 SP1

    CABI 4.1 SP3 - Windows 2012 (along with MS SQL 2012, tomact 7.0)

Will there be any issue as we are not using sql anywhere which comes by default with CABI.

Have any one tried this scenario?

    Regards

    Ajit C

    Hi Ajit,

CABI may work with MS SQL. But the MS SQL database is not supported by Spectrum Support. So, if any errors are encountered that are MS SQL related you will need to contact SAP. Hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Bill

    Hi Bill,

    Thanks for reply

As per CA release note for CABI 4.1 SP3 (windows 2012+MS SQL 2012+Tomcat 7.0) this combination is certified. Its pretty complicated as in one document CA says it has certified such a deployment and at the same time support is not sure about whether this deployment will work with Spectrum or not.

Where is the challenge (As Spectrum will use its own embedded database)

    Regards

    Hello Ajit,

We have Cabi used by many CA products and Cabi with MS sql can work with Service desk or soi etc as these products use MS sql as their database. But with respecte to spectrum, we havent tested Cabi on ms sql. Spectrum has it own mysql db and uses sql anywhere if a cabi is integrated to it.

this is a limiation from product and not CAbi. The document you refer talks about a generic statement on Cabi.

    Hi Kalyan,

    Thanks for reply,

Okay, so its not supported. It means if anything goes wrong CA support will not help us on that front correct me if I am wrong.

    Hey Ajit,

We will do our best to always help you.

Don't hesitate to contact us with anything.

We will do what we can.  If we determine the problem is with the MS SQL server side, we may request you to use a different CABI installation with Spectrum supported features.

That said, I know other customers who are using their own home grown MSSQL installations for CABI 3.3.

SAP certifies the database platforms, and they do support it.

CA has access to SAP Support should we need that level of assistance.

    Thanks!

    Matt
