  • 1.  Could not initialize MySQL connection, retry in 5 seconds: Communications link failure

    Hi folks,

     

    the tomcat catalina.log logs is full of the following messages:

     

    The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. The driver has not received any packets from the server.

    May 12, 2015 16:54:23.900 - Could not initialize MySQL connection, retry in 5 seconds: Communications link failure

     

    Does anyone has a clue what it means or where i should search / or check smth?!

     

    Spectrum is running on Solaris OS.

    Hello,

     

    Spectrum MYSQL server is up and running/operational?

     

    Can you send us <hostname>.err file to review ?

    As Lakshmi mentions, check that MySQL is up and running ok. If MySQL appears to be running ok, cycle tomcat and it should then again be able to connect.

    Sorry for the late response, i was on vacation.

    Cycle mysql/tomcat helped a lot!
