  • 1.  Problem updating CA Spectrum

    Hi,

     

    When i try to update CA spectrum in Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.6 (Tikanga), i get this error:

     

    [root@localhost s000354]# ./Spectrum_09.03.00.H01.82.Linux.txe

    usage: newtar [-][{cGrtUxX}bBdDehmnopPRv] [tapefile] [blocksize] file ...

     

           c  Create archive

           G  Garbage collection (removes deleted files)

           r  Append archive

           t  List table of contents of archive

           U  Undelete file(s)

           x  Extract archive

           X  Extract archive(s) with special output

     

           b  sets the blocksize that will be used (defaults to 20)

           B  Force newtar to follow symbolic links

           d  Deletes files before extraction

           D  Deletes files from the archive during extraction

           e  Archive up directory entries

           h  Print help (this text)

           m  Do not restore the modification times

           n  Username/UID to change ownership to if arg4 of -P is non-root

                must be used in conjunction with 'o'

           o  Restore original owner (and group) stored in the archive

           p  This option restores files to their original modes

           P  Process pairs, the file contains:

                arg0 - Source filename/path

                arg1 - Destination filename/path

                arg2 - Destination file mode

                arg3 - Destination file owner

                arg4 - Destination file group

                arg5 - BOOL checksum file (yes/no)

           q  Quiet mode, no warnings are printed

           R  Generate a report file

           s  Generate a self-extracting archive

           u  Honor umask settings when run as root

           v  Verbose output

           z  Enable compression (not compatible with G,r,U,D)

     

    Do you know what it´s the source ot this issue??

    Not seen this specific error, but perhaps you are using aliases which are interfering with the Spectrum installer? What shell are you using?

    Hi,

     

    bin/bash , the default redhat one.

    The error is that the file should decompress itself, not show any manual page, seems that the decompress line that its encoded is uncorrectly set, i use this package in another servers and works fine, but not in this one, i´ve check al libraries and seems to be good, but  in this one

    It´s the first time that i saw this error in the upgrades.

    Samuel,

     

    We have seen this error where the software was corrupted during the copy and have a problem with the checksums. Can you try to copy the exe again from a working box and then try it out?

    Solved,

     

    The issue was the /tmp folder thats full, but the instalation don´t show the error .

    Solved redirecting the temporal folder of the instalation user.
