How do I change the upsTrapAlarmEntryAdded (1.3.6.1.2.1.33.2.6.3) policy 0x021d0023 to include the alarm description?

    The default policy for the upsTrapAlarmEntryAdded (1.3.6.1.2.1.33.2.6.3) traps outputs a message similar to the following:

    “Alarm number 1 was inserted into the alarm table of GnSNMPDev (name - devicename).”

    The Alarm number refers to the entry in the alarms table, which does not much unless you read the table.

    The trap also contains the OID for the alarm description (upsAlarmDescr).

    Has anyone written a policy that looks up the alarm description and inserts it into the Alarm message, they can share?

    Hello ,

     

    From the issue i understand that you have an event variable named "upsAlarmDescr" in the event message and want to push this into the alarm title right?

     

    Did you try the Dynamic alarm title feature ? This is detailed in Event configvuration guide.
