  • 1.  Filtering of events in Spectrum

    Hi,

    We want to generate alarm for a Specific trap from the Server. Once we enable SNMP Trap on Server, It will send traps for each and every event. Is there any mechanism to filter the events either on Server End or on Spectrum End.

    Hello Soumya,

     

    This requirement can be achieved by using event configuration by customizing and event. Also you need to create a rule, as you are specific about an event from particular server.

    Please refer the Event configuration guide.

    Hello Sharma,

     

    I believe you would like to have alarms for specific traps right?

     

    We need more information here

     

    1. Does each trap trigger event with different event code?

    2. Do you want alarm for specific trap and not for all the traps?

    3. We cannot ignore a specific trap based event in Spectrum . The traps should be disabled from the server end to avoid unnecessary traffice between Devices and Spectrum.

    4. Incase you have all the traps triggering an event with same event code and would like to have an alarm based on specific event variable value in the trap we need to go with event condiiton rule using event configuration editor.
