  • 1.  PAM Server Control Agent Installation & operation

    Hi,

We are working on an opportunity for PAM SC (v14.1). The prospect is a financial institution and has servers running critical business applications. Thus, they have some concerns with regards to agents to be installed on the Windows and *nix servers.

Specifically, kindly advise on the following with regards to PAM SC agent:-

    1. Installs kernel extensions, shared libraries or device drivers or similar? and for what purpose

    2. How is the schedule configured? How to ensure scheduled poll is not activated during trading hours? (e.g. only used during authentication)

    Thanks

    Hello Sandeep

Basically, the kernel module of the PAM SC Agent is to listen and intercept system calls for which policies are defined.

Under normal circumstances presence of PAM SC on the box should not be noticeable - when it is a busy box and relevant rules exist a slight increase in CPU consumption can be observed.

PAM SC operates in realtime and does not use scheduled jobs.

    Best Regards,

    Andreas
